Wainscott Commodities Inc. was established (1998, New York) by its principal consultant – Paul Shellman, as a price risk management consultancy specializing in the metal and mining sector. Its market expertise comes from its consultants' experience running global derivative, finance and physical portfolios at major trading institutions.

WCI maintains an international presence. This includes working with clients across the multiple sectors of the commodity supply chain; end users, producers, merchants and financial firms. In addition to specific risk management engagements with corporations, WCI has been instrumental in the creation of metal derivative instruments used throughout the industry to manage price risk. WCI has been a primary advisor to several of the leading global exchanges in this capacity - London Metal Exchange, New York Mercantile Exchange and CME Group.

Mr. Shellman brings to the advisory firm a practical experience managing commodity trading ventures in North America, Australia and Europe at companies including Goldman Sachs, Koch Industries and AIDC Metals. His expertise is within the commodity markets; with a focus on risk management, pricing strategy, market structure, and derivative instruments. This expertise provides firsthand knowledge when developing solutions for clients.
